Congratulations to Andrew Song, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation "Governance in transition: Exploring people's mindset and institutional matches towards a governable coastal fisheries in South Korea" on November 4.
Andrew completed this research under the direction of supervisor Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee and committee members Dr. Svein Jentoft (University of Tromso, Norway) and Dr. Arn Keeling (MUN Geography). After completing his term as a per-course instructor in the department, Andrew will be heading to South Korea, where he will continue his research in governance and marine policy focusing on the South Korean fisheries, with themes such as the cultural aspect of seafood consumption and transboundary issues with North Korea. As part of this research, Andrew will remain connected with Dr. Chuenpagdee's Too Big To Ignore project and other researchers around the world.
