Research


Faculty members in the Department of Gender Studies are active researchers and their projects have been (and/or are currently) supported by Tri-Council and other research grants. They collaborate with scholars both within and outside of Memorial University, and have used Tri-Council funds to support graduate student development.

Faculty members in the Department of Gender Studies bring research
expertise and supervisory experience in a wide array of areas, among them food studies, reproductive rights, postcolonial and transnational feminisms, Indigenous studies, feminist geographies, feminist theories, bodies and embodiment, life writing and autoethnography, politics of health, feminist visual cultures, trans studies, and more.

These research areas can be linked to specific broad clusters, as follows:
