Graduate program

The Department re-instituted a graduate program leading to a Master of Arts degree in 1996.

The degree of Master of Arts is offered in Economics. The focus of the program is applied economics. The non-thesis option is designed so that suitably qualified full-time students can complete it in one year. The thesis option normally takes more than one year.

The average length of time to complete the degree is a little more than thirteen months, the shortest for a graduate degree in the University, according to the statistics released by the School of Graduate Studies.

See the School of Graduate Studies calendar to learn more about our MA program.

Admissions and Financial Assistance

Successful applicants are admitted for September enrolment and are eligible to apply for financial assistance. Foreign applicants are recommended to submit GRE scores and applicants (foreign and domestic) should apply no later than January 15. Late applications will be considered, however, the likelihood of financial support is reduced.
