Aboriginal Diversity Awareness

The Aboriginal Resource Office on Memorial's St. John's Campus hosts Aboriginal Diversity Awareness Celebrations throughout the year. The purpose of the event is to create awareness about the diverse Aboriginal cultures in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador: the Mi'kmaq of the island and the Innu, Nunatsiavut Inuit and Southern Inuit of Labrador. The events often include music, crafts, food and presentations from invited speakers. The list of speakers in 2012 included Dr. Kirk Anderson, Dean of Education, Chief Brendan Sheppard, Qalipu Mi'kmaq First Nation, John Nick Jeddore, graduate student at Memorial, and Amy Hudson from the Special Adviser's Office.

All are welcome and are encouraged to attend.

The next Aboriginal Diversity Awareness session will take place in March 2013.
