A Coalescence tree for four individuals
The matrix is the same as that used
previously, but shows the ancestry of a sample of four individuals
[red]. Times t4, t3,
t2, and t1
are the coalescence times during which there are 4, 3,
and 2 lineages, respectively.
The three X's show the coalescence and MRCA of two individuals, the Y's show the coalescence of three individuals, and the Z's show the coalescence of four individuals in Fig. 3.2]
