Health & Safety
At Memorial, we make your safety a top priority. Our friendly campus security team patrols the campus 24 hours a day and officers are always available by phone. Just dial 4100 from any campus phone (or 709-864-4100 from your cell phone) to reach them in an emergency. Emergency phone boxes are also located around campus, connecting you directly with campus security with the push of a button.
The WalkSafe and SafeDrive programs offered by MUNSU, our students’ union, help make the campus a safe place to study, work and live.

The Student Wellness and Counselling Centre, located in the University Centre, is staffed by health care professionals whose primary directive is dealing with student health issues.
In case of a medical emergency, you'll be relieved to know that the province's largest hospital is also located on the St. John's Campus. The Health Sciences Centre not only keeps you healthy, but it's a full-scale teaching hospital. Our Faculty of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy are all located within this hospital.
To keep yourself healthy, check out the programs on self-care and healthy lifestyles offered through our Wellness Program.
