General Admission Requirements

Required Subject Areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible mathematics or laboratory science course, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1 to 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact international_registrar@mun.ca.

 

General Admission Criteria

Minimum grade of 81 in the required subject areas.

Proof of English language proficiency through a standardized test.

Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions. For further details, refer to the supplementary application forms and documents page.

 

Supporting Documents Required

If you are currently in high school

When you apply (early decision)
  • Current translated interim transcript and copy of interim transcript in its original language. Documents can be official or unofficial.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
  • Supplementary application form and documents for your faculty, school or program.
When you complete your examinations (final decision)
  • Certified translation of your official final Bachiller certificate and a certified copy of the document in its original language sent by post or courier.

 

If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution

  • Certified translation of your official final Bachiller certificate and a certified copy of the document in its original language sent by post or courier.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
  • Supplementary application form and documents for your faculty, school or program.

 

If you have attended a post-secondary institution
