Fuel Conversion
The fuel mixture at the University Utilities Annex will be changed
from Bunker C to #2 fuel oil which will result in a major reduction
in emissions. Converting to 100% #2 fuel oil will reduce emissions
by 20 tonnes (87%) of particulate matter 27.6 tonnes (54.7%) of
oxides of nitrogen and 98 tonnes of (70.9%) sulphur dioxide.
Emission reductions will benefit the environment, particularly in
the centre of St. John’s, which includes the Health Sciences
Centre and the University.
