Battery Recycling at MUN
Rechargeable batteries can be returned for recycling to the Sustainability Office. The batteries currently being accepted are Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion), Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn) and Small Sealed Lead (SSLA/Pb) weighing up to 11 lbs. or 5 kg. each.
Batteries will be sent to the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC®) where reusable materials such as nickel, iron, cadmium, lead and cobalt will be reclaimed.
To arrange a time to drop off your rechargeable batteries or for more information, contact email@example.com or 864-3047.
Rechargeable batteries can be delivered to the Sustainability Office at any time during the year for recycling. For all other battery types (disposable), tape the terminals (both ends) and store in a safe place like in a yogurt or ice cream container until the next battery recycling event on campus. Watch this website for the next Memorial Battery Blitz date.
