Beatrice Frank - PhD candidate

Beatrice Frank, PhD candidate

Why would an Italian geographer choose to study here at Memorial?

Beatrice Frank understands that there's more to grad school than data collection. After meeting with Dr. Alistair Bath in Rome, this Conservation Biologist not only came across the Atlantic Ocean to study with him, she changed her focus area as well.

Her doctorate work examines the human dimension of wildlife management with a focus on Italy's wild boar management practices.

In the long run, Beatrice hopes her PhD at Memorial will broaden her professional career and allow for a successful career in Europe in the wildlife management field.

She already has plenty of experience, most recently working with WWF, the global conservation organization, on the biodiversity of Rome.

For now, Beatrice is enjoying her time at Memorial and is looking forward to experiencing her first Canadian winter. As an international student, she's also hoping to bring a little bit of European culture to her fellow students.
