Research interests
In her position at Memorial, Ms. Goosney is involved in informational services at the QE II library. Here, she participates in the development, promotion and teaching of course-integrated instructional programs. By working with individual faculty members, Ms. Goosney creates and teaches sessions that are customized to a particular course and are helpful and meaningful to students. She also works with course instructors in designing assignments that will foster students' information literacy. The final objective of this program is to help students in the development of independent learning skills they can take beyond the classroom into post-university life.

Experience
While pursuing her MLIS degree, Ms. Goosney completed internships at the National Library of Canada (Rare Books section) and at the Centre for Newfoundland Studies Library at Memorial. After graduation, she worked briefly at HRDC's Division of Learning and Literacy in Ottawa before gaining employment at Queens University as the Outreach Services Librarian for the Health Sciences Library.

Background
Ms. Goosney is originally from St. John's. She received her BA (Hons.) in English from Memorial in 1996, and completed her MLIS from the University of Western Ontario in 1998.
