Bio 
 
Dr. Mehmet Efe Caman completed his B.A. and M.A. as a Friedrich-Ebert Fellow and his Ph.D. as a Bavarian Elite Researcher Fellow at the University of Augsburg in Germany. He worked one year (2005-2006) in Germany as a lecturer, one year in Kazakhstan (2010-2011) as the Dean of the Almaty Eurasian Research Institute of the Akhmed Yassawi University and almost ten years in Turkey (between 2006 and 2015) as a professor in the field of political science, particularly international politics. He has been a Visiting Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland since August 2015. Dr. Caman's main research focuses on Turkish foreign policy, Turkish politics, Turkey-EU relations, the Middle East, Eurasian politics and post-Soviet regions, the European Union. He has published a monographic book on Turkish foreign policy after the Cold War, numerous book chapters and scholarly articles in English, German and Turkish about topics related to his research orientation. Caman is currently focusing on the problematic relation between religion and democracy in Muslim countries. He is presently teaching 4250 The European Union and 3230 International Organizations courses. He speaks Turkish (native), German (bilingual), English (advanced), several Turkic languages on different levels, Russian (basic).
