University Policies Announcements

At its meeting held on July 7, 2016, the Board of Regents approved the adoption of a newInformation Management policy.

Memorial University is currently revising its university-wide policy regarding Sexual Harassment.

Memorial University is currently seeking feedback on a new University-wide Information Management policy. 

The policy office is pleased to announce that version 3 of the University’s policy database is live, effective March 22, 2016.  

At a meeting held on February 4, 2016, the Board of Regents approved the adoption of a revised Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Employment (formerly Employment Equity) policy.

Dr. Ailsa Craig will lead a discussion on Feb. 5, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall, on how to create more welcoming and accessible environments for queer and transgendered populations.

A new university-wide policy is being developed as a required component of the Enterprise Risk Management program. 

Vice-Presidents Council has approved an incidental amendment to the Travel – General policy in the requirement of boarding passes as the sole document to support proof that travel by air occurred. 

At a meeting held on December 3, 2015, the Board of Regents approved the adoption of a revised Capital Projects (formerly Capital Projects – Major) policy which came into effect immediately. 

A new University-wide policy is being developed as a required component of the Enterprise Risk Management program. 

Members of the university community are invited to review documents found within the Policy Status section above and forward comments to the Policy Office at policyoffice@mun.ca by December 14, 2015.

The Board of Regents approved the adoption of a new Weapons policy. At that same meeting, it also approved the deletion of the Memorial University Pension Plan Participation by Contractual Employees policy.

Records Management and Wireless Networking policies approved for deletion by the Board of Regents.

The Board of Regents approved the deletion of the outdated Records Management Policy as well as the Wireless Networking Policy.

Weapons on Campus policy enters open consultation for feedback from members of the University community.

At its October 16, 2014 meeting, the Board of Regents approved the adoption of a revised Respectful Workplace policy and a new Compensation policy for Memorial University.

Revisions to Indirect Costs of Externally Funded Research (formerly Indirect Costs of Contract Research) and Research Contracts and Agreements (formerly Contract Research) approved

The Board  of Regents recently approved the deletion of the Employee Assistance Program and Staff Reallocation policies and their related procedures effective immediately.
