Nursing Admission Information Session: There will be Nursing Information Session on Tuesday, November 21 at 7 p.m. in the Medical School, room MED-1M101, St. John's, AND in Western Regional School of Nursing, Corner Brook. Please contact us if you have any questions about this session.
2018 Application: The 2018 Application is now available online.
Reference Form Changes: There are changes to the 2018 Reference Form. For more information, click on this link.
Nursing Admission Decisions will be EMAILED: to personal email accounts as well as MUN email accounts: Check the junk folder of your email account as the admission decision email could go into that folder, especially for Hotmail and GMAIL accounts. If you have not set up your MUN email account, set it up and check it regularly.
Wait List numbers are not Released: If you have been placed on the wait list, your emailed Nursing admission decision letter will say you are on the wait list. IF a seat becomes available for you in the Program, you will be contacted by the Nursing Consortium Office. The wait list for the Four-Year Option and the Fast-Track Option will exist until mid-September.
Admission Decisions cannot be Deferred: If you have been accepted but cannot begin the Program in that admission cycle, you will have to decline your seat and apply again the following year so as to compete for admission again.
Priority for admission is given to people who are from Newfoundland and Labrador.
Track receipt of your Nursing application documents online in the same place you applied online: Keeping checking your online application for document updates. Please Note: it takes time for the Registrar's Office to enter this information into the system, therefore please be patient and keep checking the system regularly for updates.
For applicants that have to apply to Memorial University as well as to Nursing (i.e. high school students and non-Memorial students): you will receive TWO SEPARATE ADMISSION DECISIONS: one from Memorial University and one from Nursing, therefore, students can be accepted to Memorial University and not to Nursing. If students are not accepted to Memorial University, they cannot be accepted into the Bachelor of Nursing. Please read all letters you receive carefully.
The deadline to apply to the LPN Bridging Option is February 1st.
The deadline to apply to the Four-Year Option and to the Fast-Track Option is March 1st.
Newfoundland and Labrador high school students MUST SUBMIT a copy of their February/midterm grades by the March 1st deadline to the Office of the Registrar, Memorial University. The Nursing Consortium Office does not have access to the required midterm grades, therefore these grades must be submitted. These grades must be emailed to: email@example.com.
ONE reference form is required for the Four-Year Option and the Fast-Track Option. It must come from an ACADEMIC source. The LPN Bridging Option requires two reference forms.
LPN Bridging Option applicants: Must apply online and must apply for the Spring semester on your Memorial application, not the Fall semester, as the Bridging semester begins in the Spring. LPN Bridging Option applicants must also provide a copy of their current LPN license; it is acceptable if this copy is of the applicant's temporary license.
The Guidance Counsellor Email Communication Plan for Guidance Counsellors in Newfoundland and Labrador: If you are an in-province Guidance Counsellor but do not receive any emails from us, please let us know.
