Harris Centre: Knowledge in Motion '08, St.
John's, NL, Canada
Dr. Mantyka and Ms. Kelly Penton spoke at
Knowledge in Motion 2008, an international conference,
facilitated by the Harris
Centre, which explored how higher education institutions (HEIs)
mobilize knowledge to affect regional development. Regional
development is understood here in a holistic sense as contribution
to the economic, social and/or cultural well-being of citizens at
the local or regional (sub-national) level. The conference featured
ways in which research, teaching and practice create and apply
knowledge with a social, cultural, environmental or health
impact.
