November 25-December 8, 2013

November 25-29: Installation of Polycom equipment by DELTS at the Labrador Institute. This equipment will allow us to hold meetings and teach and receive courses from the other campuses.

November 25: Martha attended a research council meeting.

November 25: Doreen had a teleconference with HR to discuss various LI issues.

November 27: Sylvia Moore and Andrea Procter completed the 5-week online course offered by DELTS called "Technology-Enabled Learning: Extending your Classroom. Boundaries with a Learning Management System." Great job ladies!

November 27: Martha attended the launch of the Innu-aimun dictionary.

November 27: Marie Clement acted as an internal examiner for a Ph.D. comprehensive examination.

November 27: As part of MUN’s cross-campus initiative, Marie Clement presented a seminar to the department of Biology entitled “New aquatic research opportunities in Labrador”.

November 28: Martha and Nathaniel worked on the preparation of the IGA grant.

November 28: Doreen has had some more discussions with C&C regarding service options for Residence and Nunacor locations particularly relating to outages and slow speeds.

November 28: Ron participated in a Resources for Sustainable Development in the Arctic (ReSDA) conference call session regarding date options for the ReSDA Annual Workshop in October 2014.

November 29-December 7: Scott was at St. John's campus. While there he attended meetings with: the Rooms, The Newfoundland and Labrador Archaeology Society, DELTS, MUN Archaeology Department, CREAIT Network, Computing &Communications, and he also attended a Grad student presentation in Archaeology.

December 2: Ron participated in Teleconference session of Harris Centre Nominations/Awards Committee.

December 4: Martha attended a meeting of the supervisory group for the Inuit Bachelor of Social Work evaluation.

December 4: As a public engagement event, Marie Clement presented a seminar on conducting a career in sciences with a focus on biology at the Senior High Career Fair at Mealy Mountain Collegiate in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

December 6: LI staff in HV-GB attended the College of the North Atlantic Christmas dinner.

December 7: Labrador Institute had a float in the Santa Claus Parade in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
