There is a lot of good news in this edition of the Bi-Weekly Review!

To start things off, Nathaniel Pollock received the Canadian Mental Health Association's 2013 Mental Health Research Scholarship. Congratulations Nathaniel!

November 11-24: Sylvia traveled to Makkovik to meet with Jodie Lane who is an Education Counsellor with the Nunatsiavut Government. Sylvia also met with teachers and staff at J.C. Erhardt School.
Also during this period, Sylvia had a number of meetings with Elizabeth Yeoman, a Faculty member from the St. John's campus, while she was visiting Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Elizabeth and Sylvia are working to develop the Aboriginal Community-Based Teacher Education Program.

November 12: LI monthly staff meeting.

November 12: Ruby Best was interviewed for the Research Associate position in the Aboriginal Community-Based Teacher Education Program, was successful and started in this new role on December 2. Congratulations Ruby!

November 13: Martha and Nathaniel met to plan a research proposal.

November 13: Doreen submitted the Final Budget Allocation to FAS.

November 14: Martha submitted a potential course list to the University of the Arctic.

November 15: Martha attended an Advancement Council meeting.

November 18: Ron attended a meeting of the Northern Scientific Training Program Committee (NSTP) in St. Johns.

November 19: John Thistle did an interview on CBC Labrador Morning about being featured in the MUN Presidents Report for 2013 and to talk about his research on resource industries with the LI. He did a great job!

November 20: John learned that he has been selected to present some of his research on Labrador at the World Congress of Environmental History in Guimarães, Portgual next summer. Excellent News!

November 20: Martha attended a meeting regarding planning for Public engagement Week.

November 20-21: MANL Workshops took place.

November 20: First meeting of the LI Santa Claus Parade Committee was held.

November 21: Doreen attended the monthly Managers Meeting
