Dr. Barrie Barrell is a professor in the Faculty of Education. Born in London, England, he holds two degrees from the City University of New York, a teaching degree from UNB, and a doctorate from the University of Toronto. He has authored and edited five books situated around teaching, learning, curriculum, and/or technology. His current research interests focus on the fundamental changes new technologies are having on various school disciplines, teaching and learning, and secondary teacher education practices. His specific focus is in the areas of secondary English education, new media, and the visual arts. In the CURA project he will examine effects of new and emerging technologies on classrooms.
