Sport Massage Therapy

Sport Massage Therapy helps prevent muscle and tendon injuries and enables athletes to recover more quickly from myofascial injury, with less chance of chronic problems returning. It can also reduce the strain and discomfort of training and chronic strain patterns, allowing a quicker return to maximum training levels. Athletes can utilize sport massage therapy for pre-competition preparation to stimulate circulation and prepare the body for performance. Post-competition massages are also useful to help relieve soreness and remove waste products in the muscles accumulated during competition.

Sport Massage Therapy services are available on Wednesdays in the Athletic Therapy Clinic (PE 2003B). Therapy is also available for non-athletic injuries, such as chronic postural strain injuries, motor vehicle collision related injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues.
