Earl Walker received his Bachelor of Recreation (Honours) degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2005. Earl has worked in a variety of recreation and leisure settings, including therapeutic recreation delivery and community based recreation programs. He has spent time volunteering with an assortment of amateur sporting groups, as well as community and church groups. In his spare time Earl is an avid outdoors person, and enjoys hunting, fishing and boating. Earl is currently working on his Master of Physical Education degree under the supervision of Dr. TA Loeffler and Dr. Anne-Marie Sullivan. He has worked as a teaching assistant for such courses as: Introduction to Kinesiology, Physical Education and Recreation, and Introduction to Physical Education for Education Students. His current research interests include serious leisure participation with a focus on hobbyists and participants in activities and games, deviant leisure, violence in sport, and participation in combat sports.
