Newfoundland History
Much of the departments' post-graduate work is done in Newfoundland and Labrador history.
The sources are all close at hand in the Center for Newfoundland Studies (in the Queen Elizabeth II Library), the Maritime History Archive, the Folklore and Language Archive, the Provincial Archives, the Newfoundland Public Library System, and in other private and public collections throughout the province.
Students can draw on the knowledge found in other other departments such as Anthropology, Folklore, English, Geography, Political Science, Sociology and Legal Studies.
The province's only university, Memorial University is the logical
place to do graduate work in Newfoundland and Labrador history.
