Atlantic Canadian Functional Regions Project

The Harris Centre has funded and partnered on a number of projects and initiatives related to regional analysis, both in Newfoundland and Labrador, and within the larger Atlantic Canadian context.

The Regional Economic Capacity Indicator, or RECI, is a diagnostic tool that can be used to assess the strengths and weakness of local labour markets as well as the economic structure of a community and overall socio-economic well being.

The Atlantic Canadian Functional Regions Project involved categorizing and analyzing different types of regions within Altantic Canada, offering insight about relative strengths and weaknesses and offering a new way to approach regional development planning.
