From Ivory Tower to Regional Power: The Role of Universities and Colleges in Development
Universities and colleges produce highly-skilled workers, they conduct research which can lead to innovations, and they are a portal to the global community. They are a unique resource available to the entire community. And yet their contribution to social and economic development often goes unnoticed. Dr. Wade Locke, professor of Economics, and a panel of experts will address the role of higher-education institutions in raising the quality of life and growing the economy of regions.
