Q: When is my degree being conferred?

A: The degree schedule will be posted by late February 2012 to show the order that degrees will be conferred.

Q: How do I register to attend convocation?

A: Log on to Memorial's Self Service beginning early March. Here you will be able to request your guest tickets and order your academic gown from Gaspard. The deadline to register is April 25, 2012 for Grenfell Campus.

Q: How many tickets can I get?

A: You will receive your own seating pass and you can request 3 guest tickets. Memorial's Self Service also gives you the option to request extra, but they will only be granted if space permits.

To confirm your guest tickets allocation, please visit the Memorial Self-Service website April 27. Guest tickets, as well as your own seating pass will be available on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 1:30 pm before the 2:00 pm rehearsal for Convocation at the Pepsi Studio.

Q: How much are the tickets?

A: The tickets are free.

Q: Where do I pick up my academic dress and tickets?

A: Tickets for graduating students and their guests will be available after the rehearsal.

On the day of Convocation, you should meet at Canada House, Pepsi Centre at 8:30 a.m. to pick up your academic dress that has been ordered through Gaspard on the Memorial Self-Service website. Please bring your confirmation number for your gown rental. Upon receiving your academic dress you will be ushered to the dressing room to receive your stage card and await procession.

Q: Where do I return my academic dress?

A: There will be an attendant in the coat-check area of the Pepsi Studio to collect your hoods and gowns (follow our signage). This should be completed before you leave. The hat is yours to keep.

Q: What time should I arrive at Canada House, Pepsi Centre?

A: You should arrive at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of your ceremony.

Q: If I am not attending my convocation ceremony, how do I receive my degree?

A: Your degree will be mailed to you. The Registrar's Office will start mailing them approximately 1 week after convocation and will be mailed to your permanent address listed with the Registrar's Office.

Q: I am not attending my convocation. Can I still borrow academic dress to get photos taken?

A: The provision of Gowns, for Photography Service ONLY, will commence in Fall 2011 through the St. John's Bookstore.
