Step 3: Making the most of Memorial

You only have a short time, so you have to hit the ground running.

• Remember, if you have any questions at any time, e-mail answers@mun.ca or drop by the University Centre (building 11), 3rd floor, room 3005. As always, your exchange coordinator is there to help as well.
• Drop by the International Student Advising Office to take part in their Friday afternoon coffee club or other activities that take place throughout the semester.

• Get involved with the "buddy program" offered through the International Programs Office, Faculty of Business
• If you come for the fall or winter, be sure to attend Orientation.
• Get connected to one of the many list-servs on campus that keeps you in tune with all the events and information for activities: The Student Volunteer Bureau e-mail list, the MUN Students' Union e-mail list, and the Answers e-mail list.
  
• Your individual faculty or department will have all kinds of activities happening, so keep in touch with them.
• Check out other ways to get involved by visiting the Student Volunteer Bureau, fourth floor of the University Centre
  
• If you are planning to work during your stay here in Newfoundland, make sure you have all the documents needed to work in Canada.
• Work permit may be applied for online (for off-campus work)
• SIN (Social Insurance Number) card
• On-campus jobs do not require work permits: MUCEP and ISWEP (for international students only)
