Career connections at Reunion 2012
By Jennifer Batten
Memorial alumni and friends will take a break from the revelry at havin' a time: Reunion 2012 to focus on building their careers in Newfoundland and Labrador at the Reunion 2012 Alumni Job Fair on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at R. Gushue Hall. The job fair will give alumni a chance to connect with a variety of employers based in the province, including Newfoundland Power, Iron Ore Company of Canada and College of the North Atlantic, to name a few.
For alumni returning home, the fair will be an ideal opportunity for face time with local recruiters and a chance to hear first-hand the needs of hiring companies and organizations in the province.
"The Reunion 2012 Alumni Job Fair is a great way for employers to meet potential employees, and for potential employees to learn more about interesting career opportunities at some of Newfoundland and Labrador's most dynamic organizations," said Jennifer Browne, director, Career Development and Experiential Learning, and chair of the Reunion 2012 Alumni Job Fair organizing committee. "The focus of the fair is on information sharing, networking and exploring a variety of career opportunities in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Our overall goal is to make the right connections to help alumni job seekers further develop their careers."
The event is presented in partnership with Husky Energy and is free for alumni job seekers.
The Memorial University havin' a time: Reunion 2012 event takes place from Aug. 8-12 at the St. John's campus, the Marine Institute and Grenfell Campus.
