Amit Negandhi, a master's student in the discipline of genetics, Faculty of Medicine, received a travel award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Cancer Research. The award allowed him to attend the Canadian Cancer Research Conference held in Toronto, Ont., Nov. 27-30, where he presented his poster titled The Glu429Ala polymorphism in the MTHFR gene is an independent prognostic marker in colorectal cancer: Analysis of two independent cohorts from Newfoundland.
