Dr. Vit Bubenik (linguistics) presented a paper entitled Development of Aspect and Tense in Semitic Languages at the 20th International Conference on Historical Linguistics at Osaka (Japan), July 25-30, 2011.
An invited article, Coloration and Chromatophores in Fishes, by Dr. Derek Burton, professor emeritus in biology, has recently been published as a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Fish Physiology: From Genome to Environment, volume 1, published by Elsevier. The encyclopedia chapter describes the cellular physiology of fish coloration and skin patterns as well as the nervous and hormonal regulation of their changes in different habitats and behavioural activities.
Dr. Christopher Kovacs, Faculty of Medicine, is author of the textbook chapter Fetal Mineral Homeostasis, Chapter 11, in Pediatric Bone: Biology and Diseases, 2nd Edition, Glorieux FH, Pettifor JM, Jüppner H (eds), published by San Diego: Academic Press, 2011: 247-275. He is also the technical editor on Vitamin D for Dummies, just published by Wiley Press.
Prof. Rick Maddigan, psychology, recently presented a poster titled Digitize Your Lectures and Get with the Zietgeist at the 33 Annual National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology Conference in St. Pete Beach, Fla. This paper summarized findings on the use of digitized class lectures for on-campus (not distance ) students.
Dr. Amin Muhammad, Faculty of Medicine, is author of Risperidone associated tardive dyskinesia – a less common phenomenon, published in BMJ Case Reports.
