Dr. Melvin Baker, President’s Office, and Dr. Peter Neary, honorary graduate of Memorial and professor emeritus, Department of History, University of Western Ontario, contributed the Newfoundland and Labrador entry to the Canadian Annual Review of Politics and Public Affairs 2004 edited by David Mutimer, York University, and published by the University of Toronto Press (2010).

Dr. Vit Bubenik, Department of Linguistics, gave a seminar titled On the Nature of Innovations in the Aspectual Systems of Medieval Greek and South Slavic Languages at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki (Greece) on June 3, 2010. He also presented a paper titled On the Establishment of Ergative Alignment during the Late Middle Indo-Aryan Period at the 43rd Annual Meeting of Societas Linguistica Europaea at the University of Vilnius (Lithuania) on Sept. 4, 2010.

Jenny Seeman, Faculty of Medicine Founders’ Archive, Health Sciences Library, presented a poster display at the Association of Canadian Archivists Annual Conference, held in Halifax, June 2010. The poster demonstrates the archive’s use of Memorial University’s Digital Archives Initiative (DAI), an online repository, which provides a gateway to research-based cultural materials in the province, hosting a variety of collections which together reinforce the importance, past and present, of Newfoundland and Labrador's history and culture.
