Living it up in the library

Living it up in the library Megan Earle, left, and Maggie Peyton are all smiles as they prepare to take up quarters in the Queen Elizabeth II Library from Jan. 16-26. The pair is pitching a tent, sleeping and studying in one of the most visible places on campus, as part of a national campaign known as Live-in for Literacy. Memorial is one of only seven Canadian universities taking part this year. The goal is to raise $6,000 locally – $40,000 nationally – to help build nine libraries in India. Ms. Peyton, a second-year Arts student, and Ms. Earle, who is hoping to pursue a social work degree, are both volunteers with Students for Literacy @ MUN.
