Dr. Sarah Pickett

Research

I am presently studying the impact of sexual orientation and transgender microaggressions as they relate to inclusive cultures and educational environments. I am also involved with the development of an organization Center for New Concepts in Eating Disorder Recovery, CNC EDR where my primary role will be to collaboratively develop training in narrative therapy working with eating disorders and the development of a research strategy for the organizations. There is a lack of research in the literature about postmodern therapy, specifically in depth case study, authoethnography, ethnography and community based research in relation to the process of recovery from an eating disorder. CNC EDR hopes to contribute to both the academic and general public literature about postmodern approaches to ED recovery.
