Land Based and Local Experiences for EDGE 2015
On Day 1 of the agenda for EDGE 2015, there are land based and local experiences taking place (weather permitting) from 1:30 - 4 p.m. Here is a list of the experiences being offered:
1. Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club
Birch Brook has several snowy trails which have been groomed for outdoor winter activities.
a. If you would like to participate in cross country skiing, the trail pass costs CAD $15.00 and ski rental costs CAD $10.00.
b. If you would like to participate in showshoeing, the trail pass costs CAD $10.00 and snowshoe rental costs CAD $5.00.
There is a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more people. Birch Brook volunteers will be available to explain how to use the equipment and how to access the trails.
Shuttles will leave the Labrador Interpretation Centre at 1:30 p.m. to drive to Birch Brook, where attendees will enjoy two hours of outdoor activities before returning to the symposium.

2. A Cultural Tour around North West River
Take a tour around the beautiful towns of North West River and Sheshatshiu to visit:
a. The Labrador Heritage Museum and Craft Shop
b. Lake Melville School, North West River
c. The Sheshatshiu Innu School
Please feel free to make an optional donation, at your discretion, to The Labrador Heritage Museum on the day of the tour.
Registration for Activities
In order to register and book transportation for the activities mentioned above, please email Lisa Pendergast at firstname.lastname@example.org stating which activity you are interested in by Friday, March 13, 2015.
Dogsledding in Labrador
Although there is not enough time during the symposium to enjoy dogsledding, you may want to take advantage of this activity if you are staying in Labrador for an extra day or days once the symposium ends.
Please contact Scott Hudson with Northern Lights Dogsledding for availability. The charge will be $50.00 per person for 1-7 people and $25.00 per person for groups of 8 and more (per individual day not combined).
