Here is a list of all the awesome people who work here at the Digital Learning Centre! Our job is to answer any questions you might have while here at the lab, as well as conduct your conversation classes. Monitors are listed alphabetically.
Beatriz Lombeida (Spanish)
Studying: Earth Science.
Interests: Nature, rocks and good afternoon spent with the family.
Resource Recommendations/Advice: Spanish is different depending on where you are in the world. Do the following while keeping a dictionary handy: watching Spanish movies, listening to songs, reading books and watching the news.
Colin Taylor (French)
Studying: Earth Science and Math.
Interests: Language learning, playing soccer, hiking and fishing.
Dan Barbour - Ciudadano del mundo (French and Spanish)
Studying: French, Spanish, Linguistics, and English as a second language teaching.
Interests: Teaching (specifically tutoring Spanish), languages, and travel.

2) Immerse yourself in the language by looking into books, movies, music, and best of all trips to French speaking places.

Interests: Reading, writing, soft-pastel painting.
Resource Reccomendations/Advice: Reading and writing. You can find leveled readings on the internet; both graded readings for language learners or for children can help you. Write your grocery shopping list in Spanish, post something in Spanish on Facebook, join a blog and post simple comments whenever you find time, join the MUN Spanish Society Facebook page.
Nancy Riche (Spanish)
Studying: French and Spanish
Interests: Reading, traveling, and spending time with friends.
Resource Reccomendations/Advice: Do as many listening activities as possible, here at the lab or at home and attend all conversation classes. Being in Newfoundland, it is often hard to find a native speaker of the language you are learning.
