Capillary Electrophoresis
CE and CE/MS
This instrument is an Agilent 1602 capillary electrophoresis system with an onboard UV-visible diode-array detector (wavelength range 190-600nm) and a 48-position carousel autosampler/fraction collector. The instrument is also equipped with an interface for the Agilent 1100 series MSD, providing the selectivity and sensitivity associated with mass spectrometry. The capillary cassette can be temperature programmed from 10 degrees below ambient to 60 degrees C, and if necessary the carousel can be cooled with an external circulating bath to 10 degrees C.
Capillary electrophoresis is known for rapid analyses with high resolving power. This technology has extensive potential for new applications, and demonstrated applications in pharmaceutical and environmental analyses, as well as proteomics. Typical analytes include polar compounds, including highly basic and acidic compounds; proteins; DNA; chiral compounds; and a number of environmental pollutants.
