My name is Pamela Button and I am a Doctoral Resident in Professional Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Student Wellness and Counselling Centre (SWCC). I began my graduate training with a master’s degree in Applied Social Psychology (MASP), and I am currently a candidate for the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree at Memorial. In my clinical practice, I work from an integrative perspective, and my areas of clinical interest include the treatment of mood disorders, emotional regulation, personality disorders, non-suicidal self-injury, and disordered eating/eating disorders. My research interests include stress and coping, barriers to help-seeking behaviours, and program development and evaluation. As part of my residency, I have been provided with a wonderful opportunity to continue to develop my clinical work and further my skills, working with a diversity of clients and presenting issues. This residency has provided both a supportive and challenging environment in which I have gained skills in individual, group, and couples therapy, supervision of graduate students, ongoing didactic and applied educational opportunities, outreach activities, and assessment experience. Following residency, I am excited to start a position with Eastern Health as a Clinical Psychologist with the Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Program.
