My name is Afshan Afsahi and I am one of the pre-doctoral residents in Professional Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Counselling Centre. I have a Master's of Science degree in Clinical Psychology. I will be receiving my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England upon finishing my residency and dissertation. I have worked with a wide range of clients in a variety of clinical settings. I have had experience working with children, adolescents, their families, college students, and adults. During my year of residency I had the opportunity to provide psychological assessments, supervision to doctoral students, individual and group therapy, and career counselling. In addition, I was involved in outreach, consultation, and research activities. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the counselling centre. The staff and supervisors provided me with a "safe holding environment" that allowed me to grow as an individual and a clinician. I am moving on from my experience at Memorial University of Newfoundland to a position with the Adolescent Medicine team at the Janeway Hospital here in St. John's, Newfoundland. I am excited about continuing my journey to become a "good-enough therapist."
