We grow a variety of traditional cool-season vegetables in a series of raised beds. These beds allow for easier cultivation and pest control, but also help extend our growing season since the soil here warms faster in the spring. Popular vegetables include cold crops (cabbage, turnip, etc), beets, peas, wax beans, carrots, parsnip, leeks and our famous 3-4 pound Spanish onions! The vegetable garden is prepared in early spring with leafmold, composted cow manure and lime. Check at the Field Centre on your way out; there may be a few bags of produce for sale.
