BA Second Language Requirement

Winter 2015

A student must complete 6 credit hours in courses in a single language other than English, or demonstration of equivalent competency in a second language. This requirement may be met by the completion of two courses in languages such as French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Innu-aimun, Inuktitut, Italian, Irish Gaelic, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Sanskrit, or Spanish, or other languages that may be offered from time to time.

The following courses applicable to the BA 2nd-Language “Core Requirement” are scheduled to be offered in the Winter 2015 semester:

  • Classics 1121 (Latin I), 1131 (Greek II)
  • French 1500, 1501, 1502, 2100, 2160
  • German 1000, 1001
  • Italian 1001
  • Linguistics 2701 (Irish Gaelic II), 2703 (Japanese II)
  • Religious Studies 1051 (Hebrew II)
  • Russian 1001
  • Spanish 1000, 1001

Please note that the two courses used to meet this requirement must be in the SAME second language.
