General admission requirements

Credential

Certificate of Complete Secondary Education (Attestat o Srednem Obschem Obrazovanii) and completion of at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University.

Exceptional candidates may be considered for general admission on the basis of the Certificate of Complete Secondary Education.

Required subject areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.

General admission criteria

Grade requirement
  • Exceptional Certificate of Complete Secondary Education students with a minimum grade of 5 in each of the required subject areas may be considered for general admission.
  • Students who complete at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University must be in clear academic standing (equivalent to a minimum of 2.0 on a 4.0-point GPA scale). 
English language proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

  • Current interim transcript and English translation (if applicable). These can be uploaded to the admissions portal or sent by email
  • Official English proficiency test result.
  • Supplementary information for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)

If you have attended a post-secondary institution
