General Admission Requirements

Credential

Diploma de Conclusion de Estudios de Educacion Diversificada (Diploma of Completion of Diversified Education) or Bachiller

 

Required Subject Areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible course in subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.

 

General Admission Criteria

Grade requirement
  • Minimum grade of "N" or 8.0 on the 10 point scale or 80 on the 100 point scale in the required subject areas.
English language proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

 

Supporting Documents Required

If you are currently in high school

When you apply (early decision)
  • Current interim transcript. Document can be official or unofficial.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
    • If you are applying for admission to nursing or fine arts, you should e-mail an unofficial copy of your transcript, showing mid-year grade/progress report (issued by your school in January/February) no later than March 1.
When you complete your examinations (final decision)
  • Certified translation of your official, final Certificado de Notas/Calificaciones (academic transcripts) and a certified copy of the original language document sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar.

 

If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution

  • Certified translation of your official, final Certificado de Notas/Calificaciones (academic transcripts) and a certified copy of the original language document sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.

 

If you have attended a post-secondary institution
