Program under review

The Horizons program is on hold for new students being accepted in June 2018, pending a review. The status of the program going forward will be decided over the coming year and if it does go ahead, it will likely be with changes. Our commitment to the students currently in the program (i.e. current grade 10, 11 and 12 high school students) will be honored as promised.

More information about the program's previous structure is available below.

About the program

The Johnson HORIZONS Program rewards engaged student leaders with leadership learning opportunities. It is made possible through the generosity of Johnson Inc. in partnership with Memorial University.

A single student can be nominated by each Grade 9 school in the province. 50 candidates will be selected from these nominations. The HORIZONS winners will receive a total of $1,200 and are welcomed into a leadership development program that will engage them throughout high school and prepare them for success as a student at Memorial University. Candidates must be nominated by their school: nominations from students or parents independent of their school will not be accepted.
