Summer in Japan

alt

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is inviting Canadian graduate students (Masters or Doctoral students) to participate in its 8-week Summer Program (beginning late June and ending early August each year). Since the program started in 1996, approximately 75 graduate students (from the USA, France, Germany, the UK) have been funded each year through this program. The JSPS recently expanded the program to include Canadian participants, as part of its effort to strengthen collaborative ties with Canada.

The JSPS will cover the cost of the program for each participant as follows:

  • A round-trip airfare to Japan
  • Accommodation and meals
  • Local transportation expenses

As Canada's nominating agency for participants from the health research field, CIHR is currently receiving applications for the 2005 Summer program. For further information on the program, the application process, eligibility requirements, as well as the coordinates of the CIHR Program Delivery Coordinator, please see the program desciption and application.

The closing date for receipt of applications for the 2005 program is November 1, 2004.
