Canadian Schulich Leader Scholarship
Canadian Schulich Leader Scholarships are undergraduate scholarships for students intending to enroll in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) areas of study at one of 20 partner universities.
All Canadian high schools and secondary schools (outside of Québec) may submit one Schulich Leader Nominee each (Deadline January 30, 2019). Cégeps (in Québec) may select two nominees each. Schulich Leader Nominees are selected by their individual schools and must possess at least two of the three following criteria:
1. Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership
2. Academic excellence
3. Financial need
Once Schulich Leader Nominees are verified, they can apply their nomination to the participating universities in Canada where they intend to submit formal admission applications for undergraduate study for Fall 2019. Schulich Leader Scholarship applications must be submitted by each Schulich Leader Nominee no later than February 20, 2019.
From March 1 through June 14, 2019, applications will be reviewed and university offers made. On June 14, 2019, the 2019 Schulich Leaders will be finalized and announced.
All partner universities are responsible for selecting the Schulich Leaders for their respective institution. A listing of 2018 winners is available on the Schulich Leader website (schulichleaders.com).
A total of 50 scholarships are awarded each year. Half of these undergraduate entrance scholarships (25) are valued at $80,000 CAD and are reserved for Nominees pursuing degrees in science, technology or mathematics (non-engineering programs). The remaining Schulich Leader Scholarships (25) are valued at $100,000 CAD and are reserved for Nominees pursuing a degree in engineering-based programs. Each partner university will select two Schulich Leaders from the pool of Schulich Leader Nominees, one at $80,000 CAD and one at $100,000 CAD.
Schulich Leader Scholarships are part of a $100 million gift in perpetuity on behalf of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and the Seymour Schulich Foundation. Additional information is available on the Schulich Leader website.
