Newfoundland and Labrador Students

Each spring, Memorial University offers a limited number of entrance scholarships to qualifying Canadian students enrolled in Newfoundland and Labrador High Schools.

Entrance scholarships are valued at either $2,550 or $1,275. These values are equivalent to tuition fees for two semesters (10 courses/30 credit hours of full-time study) and one semester (5 courses/15 credit hours of full-time study) respectively.  These will be offered at a ratio of approximately two $2,550 entrance scholarships for each $1,275 scholarship offered.

Early scholarship offers will be made to eligible candidates who applied for admission to Memorial by the March 1st deadline. In order to qualify for an early scholarship offer, students must have an early admission average of 90% or higher. No transcript is required. Your previous year final grades and current year registrations are obtained from the Department of Education automatically.

Please note that while only students with a 90% early admission average will be considered for an early offer, we cannot predict what the cut-off average will be.  Offers will be made to eligible students in late March until all funds have been offered.

A minimum final admission average of 90% will be required in order to maintain the early scholarship offer. Final eligibility, for those who receive early offers, will be confirmed in August.  Any remaining funds will also be allocated in August with additional scholarships to eligible students who have not already received a scholarship.
