Program of Study: Bachelor of Science

Anders Cornect, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor Science (Major: Pure Math, Minor: Computer Science) is completing the second year of his undergraduate degree.
During his first year studies at Memorial, Anders has earned a 4.0 GPA in the Faculty and has been named to the Dean’s list. He has been busy at Memorial with MUN Hope participating in environmental cleanups as well as the collection of bottle caps that will be recycled. Anders, along with other Memorial students, participated in the Putnam math competition representing Memorial University. He is a member of the MUN Mathematics & Statistics Society.
Prior to starting Memorial University in Fall 2020, Anders was a Math Tutor providing tutoring for high school–level mathematics. Since starting his undergraduate studies in 2020, Anders has received awards and scholarships. The awards and scholarships that he has received to date include:

  • Warren and Catherine Ball Memorial Entrance Scholarship (renewal) 2020 – 2024
  • Faculty of Science Dean’s List 2020 – 2021
  • Faculty of Science Dean’s Book Prize (Mathematics & Statistics) 2020 – 2021
  • Science Atlantic Math Competition Team Winner 2021

After graduation, Anders hopes to become a math professor. He stated that he can think of nothing more fulfilling than to research the field he loves, and to share that love of mathematics with the world and those around him. I have always enjoyed public speaking, teaching, and travelling, and my goal is to spend my life doing those things."
