Transportation to the Marine Institute campus

Student residences on the St. John's campus are located just 3 km away from the Marine Institute. Transportation to the Marine Institute campus is easily accessible with a couple of different options available to students.

Metrobus

Metrobus is St. John's public transportation system. Bus routes run between the St. John's campus and the Marine Institute over 25 times a day and offer the most reliable mode of transportation for students living in residence. Travel time between campuses is approximately 10 minutes and semester long bus passes are available.

For more information check the Metrobus website.

Memorial University Shutte Service

Memorial University offers an accessible shuttle service for its students, faculty, staff and visitors between several locations in the St. John's area. Users are responsible to familiarize themselves with the daily schedule and terms of use. Please note that the shuttle can only accommodate up to 12 passengers and is run on a first come, first serve basis. Schedule changes and service disruptions may occur at any time and therefore students should not rely on the shuttle service as their primary mode of transportation.

On campus parking

There are a limited number of parking permits allocated for students living in residence who demonstrate an academic need. Typically, daytime parking permits are not available to students living in Paton or Macpherson College. Students who wish to request one of these parking permits must forward their request to housing@mun.ca with supporting documentation indicating circumstances that require a parking permit for their program of study.

Indication of academic need is a not a guarantee of a space being made available to you at this time.
