Application for Admission
The next application deadline date is February 1, 2024, for Fall 2024 admissions.
Each September the School admits 40 new students to begin the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. Priority is given to applicants who are residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. Normally, 35 seats are offered to residents of Newfoundland (NL). Of the 35 seats, one seat is reserved for an eligible applicant of Indigenous descent from NL. The remaining 5 seats are open to non-residents of Newfoundland & Labrador, including international applicants.
The Admissions Committee selects applicants who exhibit strong academic capabilities, demonstrate the qualities and skills necessary to be an effective pharmacist, and display a commitment to a career in pharmacy.
Applicants are also required to complete an online situational judgement test: Casper test. The results of this assessment play an important part in the admissions process. While there are several test dates from which to choose to do the assessment, we strongly encourage applicants to complete the test well in advance of the last possible opportunity. Completion of the Casper test is necessary to maintain admission eligibility.
To learn more about Casper and to practice the test so you are better prepared for the actual test, go to Acuity Insights Home - TakeAltus. We strongly encourage applicants to take the practice test. The more familiar you are with the test platform, the better prepared you will be and ideally the better you will perform.
If you require testing accommodations for Casper, you will need to submit the Accommodations Request Form signed by you and your qualified professional 3 weeks in advance of your desired test date. More information regarding Casper accommodations can be found here.
In addition to Memorial University's general application fee, the School of Pharmacy PharmD application fee is $125 for Canadian applicants and $175 for international applicants. Application fees are charged upon submission of the online application.
Memorial University offers one of the lowest tuition fees when compared to other pharmacy programs across Canada.
