Research Assistant

Born and raised in Newfoundland, my inclination to remain near the Ocean and maintain a vested interest in fisheries has led me to graduate with a BSc in Marine Biology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in April 2016. I then achieved a Master of Marine Studies (Fisheries Resource Management) from Marine Institute in April 2018. I have lived and worked in Nova Scotia as an Offshore Fisheries Observer on commercial trawling vessels and more recently, in New Brunswick as a Certification Internal Auditor for the aquaculture industry.

Inevitably, the strong pull of Newfoundland has led me back to “The Rock”. I am now working as Paul’s Research Assistant in the Snelgrove Laboratory. My work includes assisting the graduate students with their research both in and out of the field and running the laboratory in Paul’s absence. I am also responsible for editing this website!

When I am not working I can be found at the nearest pool hall (yes, I play competitive pocket billiards!), reading, exercising, or when the weather permits (not often enough in Newfoundland), riding my motorcycle. Asking me about my cat is a sure fire way of getting me to talk, not that that's a tough challenge to start with.
