Seven MUNPA Members Receive Sovereign"s Medal for Volunteer Work on East Coast Trail. The medals were presented by Lt. Gov. Judy Foote on behalf of the Governor General of Canada.
May 2, 2019 - Creating a University launched
Creating a University: The Newfoundland Experience (ISER Books) is an unusual book. Edited by Stephen Harold Riggins and Roberta Buchanan (Sociology and English) and launched before a standing room only crowd in the Junior Common Room on May 2nd, it already has a number of firsts:
January 31, 2019 - Mary Dalton named Poet Laureate for the City of St. John's
Poet Mary Dalton has been chosen as the new Poet Laureate for the City of St. John's, and will be officially welcomed in the position at the public City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Read more about Mary's appointment here.
May 2018 - Ed Williams Receives Certificate of Appreciation from CURAC
Ed Williams, a former member of the MUNPA Board, was recently honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation from the College and University Retirees Association of Canada. The award recognized Ed’s seven years of service on the CURAC Board during which he served in various capacities. Read more about Ed's award here.
March 21, 2018 - Doug House Receives Frank McKenna Award for Leadership in Public Policy
Awarded by Public Policy Forum, the Frank McKenna Award recognizes outstanding contributions by Atlantic Canadians “who have built bridges between sectors, contributed to public policy and shown exceptional leadership.” We offer our sincere congratulations to Doug for his years of leadership.
