From international conferences and symposia, to the Music & Culture Lecture Series, to our scholar-in-residence program, MMaP sponsors a wide range of events that serve both the discipline of ethnomusicology and the local community. Major events include our "Good as a Concert" series of traditional music and narrative performances; Phenomenology and Ethnomusicology 2018: The St. John's Conference; the 2011 biennial conference of the International Council on Traditional Music; the 2008 North Atlantic Fiddle Convention; and Expanding Ecomusicology: Exploring Sonic Culture and Environmental Change (2013).

Our scholar-in-residence program brings leading scholars from around the world to give seminars, workshops, and major scholarly addresses for our Music & Culture Lecture Series. Past scholars-in-residence have included such well-known scholars as Benjamin Brinner, Steven Freidson, Louise Meintjes, and Ingrid Monson. Many of MMaP’s events are livestreamed from our YouTube channel, and permanently archived on that site. You can find our YouTube channel here.
